Cahiers du Cinema

The French New Wave is a helluva drug.  Film critic Claude Chabrol in 1958 decided to make a film "Le Beau Serg".  It set off a chain of films now known as the French New Wave.  Anywho: Enough of that kind of information for this blogger.  "French New Wave" information can be googled, most easily.  These artists created cinema that many mainstream viewers find hard to connect with. However, those filmmakers and theirs contemporaries contributed to the films and filmmaking they loved.  Ironically influencing the very filmmakers that they respected around the globe and eventually reaching the current MTV and subsequent generations.
