MOVIE - Get Rich or Die Tryin'

So I finally watched the movie that my sister bought me last Xmas.
A charming film called 'In America'

This was a film that moved me from the perspective of the father, who loved every moment that he spent with his family and yet he still struggled with his own anxiety as a provider & protector in this new world, all while starting an acting career.

Yet when you think that the streets may swallow this family, the telling of this magical tale makes you believe that the miracle indeed is possible and sometimes necessary.

Writer-Director Jim Sheridan was able to make this film from the heart of his struggle as an Irish immigrant in America. It was drawn from true experiences.

The film was nominated for an Oscar, for best Screenplay.

"In the Name of the Father", a film about a son who's coerced confession put him and his father in jail. Based on a true story. Three Times Sheridan was nominated for Best Director, Best Picture and Best Screenplay, based on another medium. Nominated for 7 awards overall.

He was nominated twice for My Left Foot, the story of Christy Brown, who was born with cerebral palsy.

He learned to paint and write with his only controllable limb - his left foot. Based on a true story.

Jim Sheridan has an obvious knack for telling stories about rising above one's own circumstances and not only striving to supercede expectations, but also previous accepted limitations.

Sheridan will be pouring his directing experience once again as a Director for 50 cent's ' Get Rich or Die Tryin ', teaming with Scribe Terrence Winter a Brooklyn native who has penned as well as produced for "The Sopranos".

Usually, I could care less about a movie because it stars any music artist. A movie must be really entertaining & a good story to be worth my $9. Music Video experience in front of a camera is an advantage, but not the same when you are allowing the camera to 'capture you'.

It is pretty obvious that 50 has put himself into a very unique position. This is his first starring role. His Production Company, Cent Productions, Inc., along with Producers of Aeon Flux, Italian Job, Boogie Nights, & 8 mile, have been following the leadership of Jim Sheridan, who is a director noted for his lenghty pre-production schedule. The only thing standing in the way of this movie's success is 50. If his career gets in the way of his acting, well, you remember the movie "BONES", don't you ?? Exactly, you don't.

I truly believe that Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, would have it no other way. Make no mistakes, the guy is focused on making a success.

Another challenge on this film surprisingly lies with Jim Sheridan. His past success has been strongly dictated by his tight knit production and his modest budgets. Will he overcome the stigma of "independent-sized" films, to deliver this MTV-sized movie ?

Once again Sheridan and Jackson are faced with entertaining the masses with the challenges of the past. Offscreen both men will be dealing with new challenges in private.

But, If Curtis Jackson has anything to say about it, If 50 cent is as serious about everything as he is with his diet, lifestyle and his music

You won't be able to place a dollar amount to his budding success.
